Kanemasa Phil

Seeking to preserve the function of its original and rare machinery, Kanemasa Meriyasu, a circular-knitting mill in Wakayama founded in 1964, sought a route to modernization. Kanemasa Phil., launched in 2021, gives those machines new purpose, and the resulting garments, fine jersey cut into shirts, knits and trousers, are somehow more than the sum of their parts. In 2025 the brand won the Tokyo Fashion Award.
